GUNTER ISD: Bond Election: February 19, 2005 Bond Amount: 20,000,000 Completed Projects: 1. New Softball Field (completed for the 06 season) 2. Lights for Softball, Baseball and Football fields (completed in January 06) 3. Additional bleachers at the football field (completed for the 2005 season) 4. Air Conditioned the Old Elementary Gym (completed in September 05) 5. New Elementary Campus: (07-08 school year) 6. New High School Cafeteria: (opened on February 23, 2007) 7. New Kitchen and Snack Area (opened on February 23, 2007) 8. New Fine Arts Center: Band Hall, Art Room, Choir Room (opened on Feb. 23, 2007) 9. New Stage and Performance Area: (opened on February 23, 2007) 10. New Entry way for the High School (completed) 11. High School Renovation: New Library, New Research/Writing Lab, New Administration offices, Conference Room, Teachers workroom, Additional Girls and Boys restrooms, and additional classrooms. Future Projects: 1. Science Lab and additional classrooms 2. Parking Lot 3. Expand and Renovate locker rooms at the Event Center 4. Renovated Old Elementary School |

The Gunter Primary School, in Gunter, TX, is an awesome sight. The building, completed earlier this year, is 37 ft. high at its tallest point and the reaction is that it sets just the right visual impression in this rural community outside of Dallas. “It’s very modern looking,” says Rick Cohagan, superintendent of the Gunter School District. “I’ve had a lot of compliments on the way it looks.” Just by looking at the school from the exterior, it’s not possible to know that it’s a wood-framed structure...(more) |
